My dream college right now is Boston University but I don't know if I can get in. I am an incoming senior and my statistics are:
3.7 UW 3.9 W gpa (honors and ap are 5.0)
30 ACT (should I take the SAT too?)
Good recommendations
Run track and xc
White male
From Illinois (I don't know if that matters)

If you think I can get in, how hard is it to get financial aid there? I'm kind of new to this and I don't know how financial aid really works but I do know BU is a private school so it is very expensive.

One more question, do you apply for financial aid when you apply for the school or after you have been accepted? I really don’t know the whole process

BU is not known for giving great financial aid packages, but you can certainly apply just to see what happens. Just keep that in mind & have some financial safety schools.

Financial Aid Statistics: Boston University

as said above, you have a good shot getting in, but these schools dont give a whole lot of aid. usually when giving admission to out of state students, they aim in making more money because the higher cost of out of state tuition…so i dont think you’ll be getting a whole lot of aid

You realize that BU is a private university right? Their financial aid office could care less whether you came from right next door or Anchorage.

I know BU quite well, I’m from the Boston Area and many of my friends are applying there…I would say you have an excellent chance of getting in.
