Chances of getting into Cal Poly San Luis Obispo?

What are my chances?
I am a junior right now.
My grades right now are 3.33 GPA right now(3.88 weighted)
Took honors English last 2 years, and AP World History(passed exam with 3)
Currently taking AP Chemistry, and AP English Writing Composition
2 years in Cross Country
1 year in Wrestling
1 year in Track and Field
Member of Red cross Club for 1 year
Member of Key Club for 1 year (working on 2)
Currently a member on the robotics team.
Does having a relative that went to here improve my chances? I really want to go into mechanical engineering!

Here is the current Freshman Profile. GPA’s are unweighted. Cal Poly IS one of the few California State Universities that does consider extra-curricular activities/sports to some degree (they have athletic teams and need athletes). No CKI currently (my son was a Key Club President, and he and some friends were talking about re-starting one that had gone dormant, but found they just don’t have the time - he’s Aerospace Engineering).

I know that when we toured, the Admissions Officer said that overall GPA is important, but isn’t everything. They are looking for both “well-rounded and well-lopsided” students. So, if your math and science grades rock, but your English/Social Sciences grades are a little lower, that would not necessarily rule you out when it comes to ME admission. I would encourage you to apply - tour the campus and talk to people if you can. It really is a great school.
