Chances of getting into Cal Poly SLO for EE?

Hi I am a senior in highschool and I really want to go to Cal Poly SLO for EE. My unweighted GPA is a 3.6 and my weighted is a 3.9 .My ACT score is a 24. I recently took the SAT and I am probably going to get a score near the 1700's. I have taken AP calc AB and am taking AP calc BC as well as AP Physics B. I am also taking Mechoptronics classes at my highschool which is fairly new and is actually the Engineering 100 program at CSUF. I have joined our schools TARC (Team America Rocketry Competition) team and will be returing again this year for it and will also be joining our US First Robotics Team. A lot of my friends and tutors say that I can definitely make it in with my gpa and sat score, but my research tells me otherwise. What are my chances of making it into cal Poly SLO for EE?

high match, u could use better sat scores; at least 2000. gpa is also a tad lower than average gpa for slo

EE is one of the most selective engineering program in Cal Poly.

[Student Profile - Admissions - Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo](<a href=“Cal Poly Admissions”>Cal Poly Admissions)

Avg GPA: 4.08
Avg ACT: 31
Avg SAT: 1388 (out of 1600)

Given you are below in your GPA, and substantially below in your test score, and you are applying to EE, it will be a reach unless you significantly increase your test score.

Definitely not a high match.

sigh~ well I guess it’s pretty obvious that SLO is a reach but I think it’s worth a shot. So would I have a better chance, if any,by applying early decision or regular? I’ve read that it doesn’t matter, but others say that Early decision can help a little?

SLO: reach
Cal Poly Pomona has good engineering based on what i’ve heard, and you’d easily get into that school. also, i’d suggest UC Santa Cruz maybe (i don’t know how good their engineering is though)
