Nice GPA, but those SATs are not nearly good enough to get you in if you ask me… Definitely improve those, especially reading and writing. That SAT score is below average for general admission, and the engineering school is significantly harder to get into than that. You’re great for automatic admission to the university… but school of choice is a different beast. I’ve heard of people in the top 1% of their class with >2200 on the SAT getting declined from BME at Cockrell. It’s one of the best in the nation.

@RushLeigh your math scores are good and so is your class rank but your writing scores are not strong. Your ACT scores give you the better Academic Index so UT will use those. If you just want to get into Cockrell regardless of engineering discipline choose one that takes the most applicants, like Civil. That probably gives you the best chance.

Thought about A&M as an alternate choice if you have not already applied there? Your an auto admit based on class rank and your math scores for both ACT and SAT are higher than the math requirement for engineering. As long as you get your application in before the 85% limit is reached your automatically in. A&M doesn’t have you choose an engineering discipline until after your first semester so you could still try for the one you want.
