Chances of getting into college...

I was curious as to what my chances are like of me getting into college. I currently have a 2.9 GPA due to me not doing to well in a couple of classes but hopefully I can pull it up my 1st semester of my senior year. I go to a Charter school but I heard that this doesn't effect your admission...is this true?

Unfortunatley I was unable to take my SAT I test due to a mix up of some sort but I will be taking them in October. On the old PSAT I scored a 1270 if that means anything so hopefully the new and old are similar. I have taken only a few honors classes but I have work experience along with some volunteer work and I am also involved in sports.

Some colleges I was looking at were: Temple, Kansas University, Michigan State, Clark Atlanta University, and Morehouse.

I am an African American if that helps and I live in California. I appreciate any help. Is there anyone who was in a similar situation that is now in college? I also wasn't really interested in community college but instead just going straight to a 4 year University.

You might want to look at Pitzer College (<a href="http://www.pitzer.edu%5B/url%5D">www.pitzer.edu</a>) , it's one of the Claremont Colleges. It might be a bit of a reach but I think you have a good chance. And being in the Claremont system you will be able to take classes at Pomona and the other Claremont College which are among the best.

Ok...thank you for your help and I will definately look into that college.
