I am a student at a public high school in South Carolina and hoping to major in either conservation biology/environmental science (taking this to law school) or pre-pharmacy. I am a junior, my school has no real program with student life.
Here are my statistics:
SAT: CR=610 M=580 W=590
ACT: waiting for results....
GPA: 3.66 (unweighted) 4.47 (weighted)
Top 12.5% of my class
5 on AP World History Exam
Taking APUS and AP LANG
Erskine College Junior Fellow

Lower middle class, combined income of about $45,000.

EC
Student Government Senator
National Honor Society Vice President-elect
Interact Club
Volunteer at a food bank/soup kitchen and local library
Church Member
Member of Academic Team
Palmetto Boys State Nominee (most likely going this summer)

I plan to definitely do some more volunteer work in the summer, along with a job and hope to join a devotion group (Christian) and play a sport my senior year (fall preferably)

So, what are my chances? I know that I am not Ivy material. (DON'T CARE, WISH TO HAVE A LIFE)
My projections:

Clemson=50-50
Coastal=in
Winthrop=in
Erskine=75% (college in SC)
Furman=30%
Notre Dame=wing and a prayer (GO IRISH)
Richmond=25%
American U=30% (really like to go here)
Wesleyan=wing and a prayer
Roger Williams=65%
NCSU=65% (alumni connections)
Loyola Chi=unsure
Colorado College=20%
Marquette=unsure
Wheaton(MA)=20%
Bucknell and Holy Cross= unsure

Does anyone have suggestions about colleges that could fit my persona that aren't on this list?
Thanks and God Bless.

everything looks pretty good except for those SAT scores kinda… but if your taking them again then that’s great! how about you add like wake forest, idk i dont really know what you prefer but you have a nice list now. i would even add, depending on your final SAT score, an even more selective school as a reach. i dont know why your selling yourself short here you seem very smart and involved. good luck!

I think you’re chance at American is higher than you think. You are at par with their requirements or just below. They take into account student interest, so VISIT! INTERVIEW! COLLEGE FAIR! ONLINE CHAT! That’s basically my strategy.

You could for sure get into Marquette & it is an amazing school(great law school)!!!
You could probably get into Loyola as well.

Um I think your chances are pretty high for most of those colleges…and yeah I don’t think that America University is not that big of a reach for you :D

Even if you could raise your SAT score just by 50 points, which is not that difficult in each section, then would definitely have an excellent change at Wesleyan, Richmond, and American.

I think you have a good chance, and most of your schools look like they would take a student like you. I don’t think Notre Dame is a match, maybe a Reach

Your SATs are low for some of those better schools. I am familiar with Roger Williams because I went to visit and you have that at 65% but you would definatelt get in and possibly get a scholarship. Your gpa is very good and sats are still well above their average of like 1100/1650.

definitely work on your SATs, they’re going to hurt you a ton at nearly every college you listed up there. you have chances to retake it, so study hard and take advantage of the opportunity! your ECs look really good tho, it sounds like your an involved person who doesnt just do things shallowly for the sake of putting them on a college app. the GPA is average, could be a bit higher, but meh (you said you arent shooting for ivies anyways, and the schools you listed should be ok with your GPA, esp with your ECs)
GL! and really, consider retaking the SATs or ACT.
p.s. chance me back if you have time? :P

I think that once you raise your SATs, then you will be a good candidate for most of the schools on your list. I actually think that you’re only weak in the SAT cateogry for the majority of the schools that you’re looking at-I believe that you should give yourself some more credit! :)
