Chances of getting into Columbia?

I'm going to be a junior this coming year. So I was wondering whether or not I can actually make it into Columbia..

My (sophomore) PSAT score is:
M: 73
W: 54 (icky.. Does anyone know any good test prep book?)
CR: 69

My freshman year GPA is:
Unweighted: 3.83333333333 (and so on)
Weighted: 4.5
Class rank: 13/307

I took all advanced classes (PreAP Algebra2, PreAP English, PreAP Biology -Our school doesn't have a history class for freshman o.o)

Sophomore GPA:
Unweighted: 4
Weighted: 4.666666
Class rank: 3/314

I took three advanced classes (PreAP English, Enriched -Which is basically advanced- World History, and PreCalc -it's weighted, I don't know why..)

Extracurricular?
Err.. Not so well..

Academic Decathalon 2009-2010
French Club 2010-2011
Anytown 2010-2011
Calculus Club 2010-2011
Yearbook Staff 2010-2011

And I am in National Honor Society

Is there even I chance of getting into columbia? I really want to get into a school that's in New York City and I plan to major in Biomedical Engineering and maybe minor in computer science?

BUMP?

Anyone? :D

The book by collegeboard is the best test prep book because they make the testhttp://www.amazon.com/Official-SAT-Study-Guide-2nd/dp/0874478529/ref=dp_ob_title_bk
I have the SAT subject test book and it is very helpful

I have that book! (: But somehow it doesn’t seem to stick to me ): . So I usually have to rely on either PR or Barron (Which I need to buy…)

Try looking into an SAT prep class if you’re having trouble on your own
Those are really good scores for a sophomore considering you had 1 full year of high school classes and a little over a month of your 2nd year of high school. I had scores way lower than that and my guidance counselor told me that my scores will go up a bunch just from taking it again (because you’ll be more familiar with how it works). She also told me to go online and look at what I got wrong and learn how to do it the right way

lol thanks. But personally, I don’t think they are good because I take all advanced classes meaning I should know all of the math, english, etc…

Oh btw. for more info…

I just got back my practice SAT (from the blue book) and I got a score of 2000.
WOW. Now anyone? Do you think I can make it in? :D

An advanced freshman english is still freshman english. Math is the easiest to get ahead in since the SAT is only Al1 Geometry Al2 and math reasoning.
That’s the average score of Columbia undergrad
Assuming your ec are very intense (a bunch of hours every week) and you write killer essays you have a really good chance

HA.
I don’t think I can make it in now /:
I absolutely have no volunteer hours (recorded. I mean I tutor but I never told a teacher YO THIS IS EC lmaoo)
But yeah aiming for a 2350.

Are you planning to go to columbia <:

You’re crazy, you have a really good chance. Racking up volunteer hours is easy you usually record them on your own, since you want to major in biomedical look at helping in a nursing home, shadowing a doctor, or even raising fund on behalf of a charitable organization like the red cross or American Cancer Society. You could even just stop by the hospital or nursing home near you and visit patients.
I am  Chemical Engineering. My test scores aren’t where they should be yet but I plan on having them there by the end of this year.

Kewlll. :3
really? Chemical engineering!? Good luck(: I always wanted to do that (3rd on my list).
& what’s your test scores? It’s fine I think I got that high because there was interesting passages xD. I usually get around 1900s

I’ve take PSAT’s once last year and SAT’s in 7th grade both times cold so my teachers could see where I am on my own
SAT
420 CR 460 M 390 W essay 7 (higher than the average of my high school’s seniors lol)
PSAT51 CR 60 M 46 W
So reallyyy low for ivies but considering everything they’re going to soar this year

Those are great scores for a 7th grader! I mean common you bcnu really learned much of SAT and you got 460
Also for me, whn I am relax confident I usually score better so nxt time you take the test just relax. Lol I know it kinda sounds impossible… But it works! <:

Wow. I hate predictive text… ._."
common=com’on
Bcnu= haven’t ( I have no clue how they got bcnu)
