Chances of getting into Columbia!

I am currently going into my junior year of undergrad studying business economics. Most likely going to switch to finance, marketing or just plain economics (depends on what school I end up transferring to.)

Anyways my main point is I worked pretty hard to get my cumulative GPA up to a 3.5. There is a very obvious upward trend in my semester GPAs. In my freshman year, I got a 3.0 and a 3.3 and then in my sophomore year I got a 3.7 and a 4.0. I suspect my semester GPAs will continue to be around the 3.7-4.0 area. I also have a pretty valid reason for my freshman GPAs being so low.

As far as LSAT goes I study for the LSAT almost every day and I know Columbia’s median LSAT score is around 171. So I am shooting for a score of 175.

What are your thoughts on my chances of getting in? Anybody else in a similar situation?

don’t apply until after you graduate so that you can have one more semester of A’s to maximize your GPA. Take the October LSAT after graduation. Apply as soon as you receive your score.

If you clear Columbia’s median score, you will receive serious consideration, but with that GPA, the odds are at best 50%.

You can play around with an estimator on mylsn.

Good luck.

Thank you so much for your reply! @bluebayou I figured a couple more semesters of straight As would help me out
