Chances of getting into Cornell? BAD Junior Year

Hi there, my current cumulative gpa is a 3.76 weighted. however, i am really screwing up my junior year! I am working my butt off, but my luck seems to suck! i have taken ap biology, and i am currently taking ap chemistry and ap language in my junior year, along with honors precal and honors physics. i go to one of the top schools in my country. i have been accepted to a cornell summer college program called body mind and health and plan on going to earn three credits. i am part of NHS, varsity soccer team all of my high school career so far, i am currently secretary of NHS. i am also part of the chess club, MUN, and part of charity for Syrian refugees, which i am extremely passionate about. i am happy with my previous work in high school, but as for my current junior year, my gpa continues to fall despite my hard work. I REALLLY want to get into cornell university to become a dietician or study food sciences. so far i have taken five honours classes, and three APs. i dont know what my SAT score is yet, but i will soon find out and hope to get like an 1800 before the time i apply. but my GPA currently is a 3.29.... i am not doing too well. however i REALLLY amy working hard... i just dont know how to tell colleges that despite my hard work, my grades are falling... Can someone please tell me if i chance to get into cornell university? It is my absolute DREAM! as for my current low gpa, i still have a month left of school, hopefully i can get it up! :/

If you need more information, feel free to let me know and i will let you know!

THANK you so much!!!!

You should try taking SAT 2 tests for the subjects you didn’t do well in. Apply ED and try to cook up some reason why you didn’t do well this year, and write it in your essay. Which Cornell college are you interested in? Cornell’s all about fit and you definitely have to demonstrate that very well if your grades aren’t that stellar. You should probably intern at a lab during your summer to highlight your interest in food sciences.

An 1800 isn’t going to help. Average SAT at Cornell is about 2200. Cornell will unfortunately be unlikely with your stats. For top colleges, getting in is not about working hard. It’s about working hard and getting great grades too.
