Chances of getting into Cornell ED?

I took the SAT twice and didn't do that much better the second time.

1) 720 M, 620 R, 700 W
2) 710 M, 630 R, 730 W

I have a 95.36 unweighted GPA which includes all honors and 3 APs from this year (will take 5 more next year).

SAT 2

- I was handpicked by a group of teachers to act as an advocate/mentor to the 8th graders of a middle school and talk to them about the high school experience. We discussed with them how to cope with the difficulties and stress of high school and acted as a guide on how to make the most of their experiences.

I know the SATs are low and I plan on taking it again in October. However, as of now, what are my chances of getting into Cornell ED?

I’d say if you got your critical reading score up to maybe 670 you would have a good chance, especially ED; however, what specific school are you applying to? Arts and Sciences/Engineering will probably require higher sat’s as compared to the other colleges which seem to focus of “fit”. But your EC’s look really good and they definitely make you appear well-rounded.

thanks, anyone else?

I assume your GPA puts you in the top 10% of your class.

The 620 CR is a bit low, but not necessarily fatally so if everything else works. Considering that even students who apply with a 750 only have about a 1 in 3 shot of getting in (IMO for Cornell “Target” means 1 in 4 or so).

So, realistically, you may have a shot but nothing you can count on. An extra 50 points on the reading would help some. Also, consider taking the ACT. Some students do better on that.

anyone else with input?

What is your rank? ECs are great, scores and stats are ok. You have a pretty good chance I’d say. What college at Cornell are you applying too? What other schools are you looking at?
