Chances of getting into CSU

Currently, I am a senior and looking to apply for colleges in CA. I have a 2.5 GPA and 2110 SAT score. So, do you guys think, I have a chance of getting into any CSU or any other colleges in CA?

Assuming you are a CA resident and complete tha A-G matrix, there are several CSUs that will be open to you. Most majors at Sonoma, Sacramento, Humboldt, Northridge and SJSU are probably doable.

CSUs use a simple formula to create and index rank applicants. CSU GPA * 800 + SAT (M&R only).

Use these links to calculate yours. It will help us slot appropriate schools.

Note the min EI for in state applicants is 2900 and for OOS is 3502.

Calculate and post your index for further guidance.

my eligibility index is 3360 (2.4*800+1440)

For most majors, CP SLO, SDSU, CSULB, Chico, Fullerton and perhaps Northridge are the only ones out of your reach.

SJSU actually posts last year’s threshold for each major here:

CP Pomona, Sonoma, Sacramento, Humboldt, represent a pretty broad selection and are all worth a look.

Excellent advice from @NCalRent. Although your GPA is low, your test scores show that you are a capable applicant. An EI of 3360 will get you into many of the CSU’s listed in the above post ^^^ and I would add San Marcos, Monterey Bay, Cal State LA and Channel Islands depending upon intended major and desired location.

Good Luck.

Thank You NCalRent and Gumbymom for your help and support!!!
