I am currently living in Canada, but I was born in China and I lived in New Zealand for six years, so my English is good. I want to know my chances of getting into Deerfield. I just finished grade 8, so I'll be applying for Grade 10. I go to a really average public school though. (we don't have A+ etc at our school)
Academics:
-A in French for all three terms
-A in Science for all three terms
-A in Social Studies for all three terms
-B in English for first term and A's in terms two and three
-B in Math for first term and A's in terms two and three
-B in PE, but I'm getting an A this term
-B in Art
-A in Drama
-A in Business Education

And my work habits are all Good/Excellent

I haven't really done any extracurriculurs in school this year, but I play the piano outside of school, I take art classes outside of school (I really enjoy visual arts and performing arts), and I'm also taking a speech arts course (RCM). In my grade, there isn't all that many opportunities for grade 8's so I haven't been able to join the clubs and activities I like. Next year, I plan on joining the basketball team and the volleyball team (I'm good at those sports and I'm really tall). Also, I love acting and drama, so I will be trying out for the school play. I also really enjoy writing. I scored perfect on a big poetry project (only one in whole grade!). I'm good with languages, (scored perfect on every single French project!) and I'm a fast learner. My only issue is that I'm bad with math. I got 79% first term, 87% in second (86 is considered an A at my school), and 90% this term. I have a math tutor and I'm gradually becoming better though. Other than that, I'm pretty good with all my other subjects except for PE. I'm not the greatest with pushups and running so I have a 86% average. Overall, I'm a pretty good student, I have strong relationships with my teachers, I am quite active in class, I'm pretty social and I work well with others, and I'm a more artsy/creative person. I know my chances are slim, but in your opinion, do you think I stand a chance at all?

I haven't taken the SSAT yet, but I'm taking a SSAT prep course. I have an interview for Deerfield in August so any tips will be great!
