Okay, so I'm awaiting my decision letter but I'm starting to get antsy about whether I'll get into Emerson...I was deferred in December and my letter should be here by the end of the month, but could anyone tell me what my chances are for getting accepted? I'm applying for the journalism program.

Here's my stats:

3.48 GPA
Decent SAT scores, in the low 1700s.
All honors courses throughout high school, with the exception of some electives.
2 AP courses, getting an A in my AP English, didn't do too hot in AP History. I was in the C/D range.
Getting all A's and B's right now.
Took a math course earlier this year, got 2 C's and switched out...would that hurt? I have no math or science courses...

Student Council Member (4 yrs)
Class President (2 yrs)
StuCo Executive Board President (1 yr)
School Newspaper Editor/Contributor (4 yrs)
National Honor Society Member (2 yrs) This also requires a lot of community service, which I cited.
Babysitter for nearly 5 years.
Not currently working.

After being deferred, I sent Emerson a package of a 10 page paper that I aced in AP English, 2 letters about myself and my goals, newspaper articles I've written, and a DVD of my work on my school's broadcasted news show. I'm hoping that's enough to make them think twice before rejecting me, but does anyone have any other thoughts? Do you think it'll do?
