Chances of getting into FSU or UF

I am a senior in high school, and in the top 11% of my class which is out of 504 students.

Applied for summer 2016

4.2 weighted
3.8 unweighted

1480 sat
For SAT Reading 540, Math 500, and Writing 440

23 act
And on the ACT my reading score was a 29, Math 23, English 22, and science 20.

My essay was fairly strong, I had my sister, teacher, and parents look at it. It was unique too so hopefully that will help.

I did 4 years varsity track and field, NHS, spanish club, I did key club, blood drive committee, and a few others.

I take at least 2-3 AP classes every year. (none freshman year)

My sister goes to FSU, so I marked the box in my application for a sibling attends.

I also have a job… I don’t know if they will notice that or not.

I feel like I have a decent chance for FSU… it is just my act and sat scores that are scaring me.

Hopefully I will get in, but I just need to know realistically if I should apply to FGCU or something. I applied to UCF already and should find out soon.

Your GPA and EC’s are fine for UF and FSU, but you have to get those test scores up. Can you re-take the ACT and/or SAT? UF will accept new test scores up till the end of December.

I would also apply to FGCU, as a safety. Having one acceptance makes waiting on the others a lot easier. :slight_smile:

You will not get into UF with those test scores, and FSU is pushing it. I would also apply to a local state university and a cc.
