I am a Junior.. My GPA as of now is a
3.94 (unweighted) or 4.46 (weighted)

I have taken the SAT and I plan on taking it again along with the ACT in order to improve my score. My score was a 2000.
PSAT was a 200 in the 96th percentile.

My class rank is 44 out of 573.* My high school is known for it's academic rigor

I am a member of National Honor Society

I am a captain of our Girls Varsity Basketball Team

I am also a member of the Girls Varsity Track Team

I was involved in marching and concert band my freshmen year and played clarinet for 4 years.

I am an Honors Student

I am a member of my churches' youth leadership council

I lived overseas in 5 different countries for 9 years before moving to the US, and I have been going overseas every year since freshman year for mission trips and service projects.

If I apply to Georgetown, I would love to attend the Nursing school and potentially major in International Health.

Thanks so much for any input!! ))

for freshman application, i strongly suggest you to improve your SAT as possible as you can. 2000 won’t jeopardize your application but it is hard to improve your competitiveness.

^^not sure i understand the above, which seems to contradict itself, but i think that a 2000 SAT could hurt you.

@WCASParent
I mean scores are just on the average level. 2000 won’t make him/her stand out in the thousands of applicants. At least 2000 SAT is unlikely to let admissions officers throw his/her applications into trash can in first-round.

2000 is well below average in comparison with the class of 2016, but one, you are taking it again, two, there are more standardized tests (SAT II’s), and three, your EC’s and story are great, so tighten up the screws and I think you’ll have a solid chance.

Thanks! Yeah I am definitely going to try to bring up my SAT score this summer

Just remember for your SAT georgetown put more emphasis on the CR and M, Also they strongly recommend 3 SAT 2 but a lot of people only submit 2

I’m a senior and I applied to NHS for International Health! I’ll let you know how it goes…

I applied to International Health too! I have never travelled abroad but would love to, so hopefully this is my chance! Good luck and I hope we will see each other there! :)

Current freshman in MSB. ECs don’t particularly stand out and SAT should be a couple hundred points higher, which shouldn’t be too difficult with a little practice. In order to really stand out focus on creativity in your essays. I know you mention mission trips, but admissions has gotten the “I went on a service trip and it changed my life” essay too many times for it to actually make someone stand out. I would also take the interview seriously- it’s pretty casual but also want to show your interviewer why you are specifically interested in GEORGETOWN. Hoya Saxa and best of luck!
