Specifically the nursing program. I’m a white female high school junior at a good public school in Texas. I’m not in the top 10% out of 600ish students and our school doesn’t rank past 10%.
ACT- 33 (took it once with English 36, Math 28, Reading 35, Science 31)
SAT- 1480 (took three times but first scores were both the highest, English 780 and math 700)
GPA-4.82 on a 6.0 scale weighted, 3.8 on a 4.0 scale unweighted
APs- Human geography, world history, English composition, Spanish, physics, psychology, US history, and planning on taking government & economics, chemistry, statistics, and English literature
ECs- head mascot (9-12), president of Young Democrats (11-12), feminist club (9, 10, 11), Muslim student alliance (11, 12), secretary of Spanish Honor Society (11, 12), NHS (11, 12)
I’m also taking a course next year that does rounds at a nursing home and at the end of the year I’ll be a certified nursing assistant (CNA).
Additional question- I know Georgetown is a Catholic school and is more conservative than other schools. Should I emphasize my more ~liberal~ EC’s or back off of those a little? Creating and being president of the Young Democrats is a big part of what I’ve done in high school and I’m not sure if I should play that up as its my only president position or downplay it.
Georgetown is my dream school, so any advice y’all have as for improving my chances would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
