Chances of getting into Georgetown?!

Georgetown has been my dream school for what seems like forever… and as I am a rising senior, I would like to know people’s opinions on if I’d get in or not. I would greatly appreciate any feedback. Thanks!!!

I’m scared that my extracurriculares, leadership, and awards are all lacking… but maybe my test scores could help bump me? idk, please share thoughts and opinions!

Most of your ECs revolve around soccer, which since you aren’t being recruited by Georgetown or other schools for it, would probably not help you much from the admission standpoint. The DECA participation looks good to me, but seems to be the only real EC with substance outside of soccer. Volunteering at a hospital, while commendable, tends to be a commonly used EC when applying to colleges. Working shows that you had to balance a lot, which could also look favorable. Based on your high test scores and your average ECs, I wouldn’t strike Georgetown from consideration. In all honesty, it probably won’t work out, but you do have a pretty competitive application IMHO. GL!

With a 4.0 unweighted GPA & a 34/35 ACT in addition to significant athletics & work hours/commitment, you are a strong candidate for admission. Tailor your application essay to why you want to attend Georgetown. Use your knowledge of Georgetown’s programs and include thoughtful reflection about what you have learned in the past & about what motivates you now & in the future (goals).

I think you are a strong candidate. GPA, rigor, and tests are great. I disagree with DJCURRY, I think admissions will look favorably on your soccer. You definitely shoul show them that you intend to play on their club team; admissions likes to see that you connect your interests to clubs/organizations at their school. Also, Georgetown likes community service, which you have a lot of.
