Chances of Getting into Georgia Tech

Hi I am applying regular decision for GT and I would like to know my chances of getting in.

Honestly just being a female gives you such a good chance at GT. I got in early (I’m a girl) with similiarish stats while guys got deferred/rejected.

Georgia Tech got EXTREMELY hard this year. The EA acceptance rate dropped 15% from 2015, to a 30%. So, regular decision is going to be a reach for even the most qualified candidates. Being a female and being in-state will certainly help, but I think Georgia Tech is a low reach for you. (SAT is low).

I applied EA this past fall, and I got rejected with a 3.73 Unweighted and a 34 ACT. However, I am OOS, and I am male, so your chances are probably better than mine were.

@QuiteAverage90 , last year GT’s overall acceptance rate was around 33%, I expect it will drop well below 30% for Fall 16. We saw the same at my son’s OOS high school, he was accepted with 3.98/36, but many of his friends were deferred or rejected with just slightly lower scores. I think the OP will be accepted because of her stellar GPA and in-state status.

@QuiteAverage90 @TooOld4School Thank you very much for your optimistic opinions. I really hope I can make it in since it is my number one choice. However my school is very competitive and I know some people with very high stats who got rejected for early. Do you guys have any idea if the stats for regular admission will be lower?

Based on the EA acceptance rate, RD is probably going to be in the low teens, with an overall acceptance rate in the twenties.
