  1. Move this to chance page
  2. Allow some time for people to answer before you bump

Presumably you applied ED2? Here’s what you need to do. Find a new hobby, read some good books, and step away from this website. You’re certainly an legitimate applicant and you’ve got less than a month before you’ll know for sure. It’s done. Don’t tear yourself up or second guess yourself now based on what a bunch of anonymous posters may think about your stats. You’ll have time for all that later based on actual results–not hypotheticals…

Wow that’s qialah you’re so right. I will just leave it to admissions to decide.

Your ACT is acceptable for those schools, and it appears other things are good, but your GPA is really low. Not sure you will get into any of those schools. If your GPA has been trending up, and you have a good explanation for why it’s only 3.3, then perhaps you have a shot. Otherwise, I think you are reaching too high.

I hope your chances are good because I’m in a similar situation! I estimated my GPA around 3.3 and my SAT was 1450. I’m taking a lot of challenging classes and have some GPA explanation but I still think it’s a big reach for me. I love Grinnell though and hope we both get in!

Google the Common Data Set for these schools and go to Section C. Your chances are right there. Compare yourselves to the admitted students.

I ended up getting accepted! I guess I didn’t reach too high @stepay‌.

@stl63139 - Congrats! I assume you mean you got into Grinnell. As I said earlier, your ACT score is decent for them, so they must really have liked that and your essay and whatever else you bring to the table. Their average GPA is well above 3.3, and I’m looking at a scatter graph right now that has VERY few acceptances at your GPA level or below. Well, this is why you apply and don’t just listen to hacks on a message board! Congratulations again!

Doing the full iB is maximum rigor. Congrats, lucky you to have it settled and great college to look forward to. Thanks for the report. Did you find the grinnell forum yet? I’m sure there are threads for EDAdmits.
