Chances of getting into Kent State?

Kent State's fashion merchandising program is my dream, and it's my number one school. I have a really really low GPA (2.0 unweighted) and a 21 act score. I'm continuing to work on my act and am looking to take the SAT if there seems to be even a small chance. I've taken honors courses my whole high school career and this is my second year of AP History. I have six recommendation letters plus a personal essay I'm sending in separate from my application in the mail (Kent does not require any of this). I've called in and attended all events possible and have tried to gain some insight or outlook from admission advisors and directors, only to be told the teetering "maybe" and it's "possible" :) haha. I am extremely extremely anxious about it. I was advised by the admissions office to turn in my application much later in the year so they can do a "seven semester" look to see my line up of courses this year. I know it's always always possible to start off in community college or regional campus and transfer, but I'd be really really ecstatic to be granted admission into their fashion pre-program, (only pre!) which is described as an academic watch for inspired fashion individuals who are more than book smart (: I'm a first gen college (I live with my foreign grandma and little sister as she has legal guardianship) I know Kent has a 87% acceptance rate and is very lenient, but I know I'm a very lowball student. Anyone have any insight?

Your ACT is actually in the middle for admitted students, but your GPA would put you in the bottom 5% so they’ll factor in the rigor of your curriculum. I’d say your odds are 50-50 at best though.
