Chances of getting into LMU?

I'm really nervous about my application. I have a horribly low SAT test score and a low ACT score as well, but my unweighted GPA is 3.35 and my weighted being 4.1. I'm just a really bad test taker. I have a rigorous course with almost all AP Classes and Honors classes. I currently go to a magnet school where each student is required to have eight classes and I'm in the biomedical program. I have three years of being in journalism and having multiple articles/pictures published in the school paper, along with that I have an honorable mention in a poetry writing competition. I also have 3 years of volunteering on my application. I'm part of NHS and I was president of AP Club my junior year. I'm afraid that my low SAT score is really hurting my chances. What can I do to increase the chances? I'm afraid that there's no more time to retake the SAT.

LMU, as with most independent universities, looks at the entirety of your credentials–your background, your references, and so on. Even your essays matter. At this point, you need to relax since your application is in the hopper and they do rolling admissions. Worst case scenario? You begin college elsewhere (even your local community college) and transfer. Transfer students don’t need to take SAT’s, etc. If you really want LMU and they don’t accept you, do contact Admissions and see if you can file an appeal. Most students don’t think to pursue that option and it may open a door that you think is closed.
