Chances of getting into LSA for econ?

I was wondering if someone could tell me my chances of getting in. One of my friends got in and I'd by psyched to go there with him.

3.771 UW GPA (most likely 3.74-3.75 by time of application)
3.9 W GPA (will be higher. I'm not sure by how much)

1 Honors class sophomore year
3 AP classes Junior year
Planning to take 3 AP classes and 1 Honors class senior year

I haven't taken the ACT yet, but I think I'll be getting in the range of a 26-28 and will be retaking a maximum of 2 times if I'm not satisfied with my score. And I am preparing rigorously for it

Extracurriculars:

2 years (will be 3 after senior year) on Robotics, one (most likely 2 after senior year) as head of Finance
1 year of varsity hockey (had to quick because of knee injury

~20 hours of volunteering so far

Thanks!

It’s a reach. A larger reach if you’re out of state.

 • GPA of 3.74-3.75 is below the average of 3.85
 • ACT is below the 25th percentile for LSA.
 • Relatively low class rigor.
 • Extracurriculars are impressive but they won’t make up for the low test score and below average grades.

Your best shot is to do everything you can to try to score higher than that on the ACT. A 26 would give you a minuscule chance of acceptance. A 28 would be better but still wouldn’t look good.
