Thanks for your time!

Your chances are great for getting accepted. You should apply by the scholarship deadline because your stats and possibly, great essays could put you in the position of getting a scholarship through USC.

I know you’re not asking this, but your chances at Berkeley are very good as well. With your high school preparation, I believe you can succeed in USC, Berkeley, and any other university that could accept you.

Remember to apply to safeties (such as UC Davis, UCI, etc), but with your scores, I suggest adding a few more reach schools, particularly in the Ivy League, such as UPenn and Columbia. This admissions season is also going to be unpredictable and most likely, more competitive than this past year.

This year the NM cutoff was 217, the year before was 218. You’re looking good! Finalist designation gets 1/2 tuition at USC if you name it as your 1st choice.

thanks for the input!

yeah, cal is actually my #1 but i don’t feel really good about my chances. i like usc because it takes your best sat subscores even from different sittings, berkeley would see only my best sitting and thats just a 2230 instead of a 2320. i also feel like i need to get more ec’s to compensate for my not-so-high GPA

If your high school is ranked that high and 60+ students go to Berkeley every year then you have a much better than great shot at UCB. lol. You have better stats than the average UCB admit. What makes you believe they won’t want you?

S was accepted at Cal, UCLA & USC with stats similar to you. Visit them all. USC’s Marshall School of Business was the best fit for him.

How do you have a 4.3 GPA with only 2 APs (compared to a 3.7 unweighted). For Cal, your UC GPA will definitely not be as high as your school calculates it to be. What is your UC GPA?

The OP could have taken other AP classes and honors classes.

nhsharvard’s correct, we have “honors” classes that are weighted, but are not AP. Being in CA, classes that are designated as honors by UCs tend to get that same designation at competitive colleges. And I’m totally off forum for this, but the “UC GPA” is only for ELC. UCs uncap weighted credits for analysis. DS took a heavily weighted curriculum ending up with a 3.7 UW and a 4.45 W. UC GPA was 4.05.

In analysis, Business Economics at UCLA and two years at Cal’s Haas fell short of four years at Marshall starting in the GLP. Merit money helps!

yeah, my honors classes are weighted (they are actually harder than my aps). i wish i couldve taken more aps tho, but in most cases my school only allows students to start taking aps junior year

socalgal i am confused by all your abbreviations!

Lowell HS? I think you’ve got a great shot. Make sure you apply by the scholarship deadline and you should have a good shot at some merit money as well.
