Chances of getting into McGill? How important are AP classes?

Hey guys, I’m new here, sorry if this is posted in the wrong section.

I’m a 10th grader at a very competitive public high school in the U.S, but I have a Canadian citizenship. I am very interested in McGill and have heard great reviews about it.

Since I’ll be in 11th grade next year, I haven’t taken the SAT/ACT yet. But I have a few questions:

(1). How important are AP classes in the admission process for McGill? Would it better for me to take all honors classes and get perfect grades in them or would it be better to take 4 or so AP courses and get low A’s/High B’s?

(2). Despite living in the U.S, I am a Canadian citizen. Would I be considered as an international student @ McGill?

(3). I have a GPA of about 3.75 (out of 4), but I plan to raise it to 3.8-3.9 (yes I know, its going to be tough). I am taking quite a few AP classes but I’ve heard rumors that its better to get better grades in easier Honors classes. Is this true in regards to McGill?

(4). Who’s admission process is generally considered easier, University of Toronto’s or McGill’s?

Thanks guys, sorry for these questions. I know there really isn’t any definite answer for 1 and 3, but i’d appreciate any answer. Thanks

I’m an American who went to McGill for two years. Pretty sure I had at least four AP classes, but I didn’t take any AP tests and they weren’t all flat As if I remember correctly. I don’t think you’d need to worry too much; with a GPA like that I feel like it’d be hard for you to not get accepted, at least if your year is anything like mine was.

Also I don’t really know, but based on the experiences of friends of mine, I’m pretty sure dual citizenship is enough to allow you to pay tuition as a Canadian. You should check with the school though.

For admissions purposes you will be evaluated as an American applicant e.g. SAT or ACT required. If admitted you will be classified as a Canadian student.
