Chances of getting into Mechanical Engineering?

<p>I’ve already been accepted to UT, just not into my first choice major.</p>

<p>Rank: 51/556
SAT: 1870 - 530 CR, 720 M, 620 W
ACT 26: Math 32.
I've taken 4 years of Spanish, I got a 4 on the AP Spanish Langauge test
Have taken and passed 5 AP exams (includes Spanish mentioned above)
I'm in NHS, Spanish Honor Society, and Model United Nations.
As far as extracurricular activities, I've been playing piano for 9 years.</p>

<p>Just incase my individual AP scores matter....
US History - 3
World History - 3
Spanish Language - 4
Music Theory - 4
Statistics – 4</p>

<p>Are these stats sufficient for acceptance into Mechanical Engineering?</p>

<p>Honestly, your SAT isn’t great at all. MUN holds quite a bit of appeal based on my own acceptance, but I’m not sure those AP scores are good enough.</p>

<p>I suggest you retake the SAT. If you’re getting below 2k, it’s rather difficult, especially with 3s in your AP.</p>

<p>Btw, why did you take those AP Classes? None of those apply to Engineering, apart from Statistics and that’s only because we need a math elective.</p>
