<p>Hey guys what are my chances of getting into MIT, UPENN, JHU, WUSTL, UNC Chapel hill, Duke, or NYU?
GPA: 3.73
SAT: 2250 (I have time to improve)
SAT II:
Bio: 800
Chem: 800
Math 2: 800
ACT: 34
Extracurriculars and volunteering:
3 years of track(2 years varsity)
2 years of National Honors Society
2 years of Spanish Honors Society
2 years of Key Club
2 years of Science Olympiad</p>

<p>Volunteered for 121 hours: EMT, Key Club stuff, and at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital</p>

<p>You don’t need to improve your SAT. I mean, you can, but you already have an excellent score. Your GPA is a bit low for some of these schools, though. </p>

<p>MIT: out of reach (high reach if you have a strong hook)
UPenn: out of reach (high reach if you have a strong hook)
JHU: mid reach
WUSTL: mid reach
UNC Chapel Hill: high match
Duke: high reach
NYU: high match </p>

<p>If those are your only ECs then I would say all of those are reaches except for NYU. Your test scores are great! But you need to do other stuff too. Also your GPA is a little low.</p>

<p>None of you have any idea the true selectivity of these schools, do you?</p>

<p>Reach for everybody: MIT, Duke, Penn</p>

<p>And Duke is more selective than Penn based on SAT scores and if you want to split hairs, acceptance rate as well. So I’m not sure why people are saying Penn is more reachy than Duke. </p>

<p>The rest are doable.</p>

<p>Your GPA would definitely be the biggest thing holding you back. Also having only 2 years on most of your ECs. I think your test scores are fine.

<p>your GPA isn’t great and your ECs don’t stand out… i’d say reach for all except NYU but what do I know? also, congrats on the 2250 :slight_smile: hopefully your weighted GPA (+1 for AP, +.5 for H) is at least 4.3 or so to make up for UW.</p>
