I am currently a student at a community college in North Carolina. I was too distracted in high school and just didn't take my education seriously at all until my senior year. I've finally made up my mind to get my life together at community college where I've been working my tail off. I want to go to school for computer engineering because I participated in a engineering innovation program at John Hopkins during the summer after my senior year and have been interested ever since. Also, I love math and science so I believe that the Major fits my interests well. My first choice is NC State but either school would work for me. However, I have been taking courses that would meet the General Education requirements for the BCE degree at NC State since it's my first choice. The GPA requirement to get into NC State College of engineering is at least a 3.0 (2.5 for UNC Charlotte). My stats are below.

Current GPA: 3.4 (Made a C in biology my first semester)

Activities/Clubs:
Hispanic Culture Club
School Mascot for sport teams
Math Tutor (Federal Work Study)
Musician
SGA Senator
Secretary for Computer Club
Member of National Society of Leadership and Success

I've met both of the school's requirements and all of the classes that I've taken will transfer. Right now I'm taking Calculus 2 and Calculus based physics which is a requirement for NC State and recommended for UNC Charlotte. By the end of this semester I will have 60 credit hours. If for some reason I don't get into either school for fall 2014 then I'll just finish my last semester at community college to get my Associates.

Does it look like I have a shot for either school? Please comment below.

Thanks!

(P.S. I hear from NC State March 30th)
