Hey everyone,

Currently an undergrad student at the Universit

There’s a steep tuition difference between that undergraduate college and the grad schools you’re applying at. And that school isn’t exactly a feeder to American graduate schools. Plus professional degrees have poor financial aid. Can you afford either school?

All I can tell you at this point is that you might want experience in communication beforehand…

Yes, I have dual citizenship and could afford both schools. My question is more about my chances of being accepted…
I read a lot of people got accepted with a 3.6 GPA for an average undergrad school and some of them did not have field experience, so… I was just wondering

The issue about contacting professors is mostly a PhD issue but, if you elect to attend either school for a MA with thesis, the thesis counts for much less credits (4 at NYU or BU) than at home. But you might have a chance. Is UQAM no good for you? (I know, UQAM has much less of a brand power than even BU but, for mass communication, much more affordable)

I myself attend the same undergraduate college as you do, so I understand it might be a little hard for the admissions committee to gauge an application from our college vs. one from, say, UIUC with the same record.

Thanks for your answer but I don’t understand why you keep on suggesting schools that are less expensive as I just mentioned above that I would eventually be able to afford it…

Do you have any idea as to how much you scored on practice GRE tests?

Not yet!
I’m just wondering about my GPA if it’s high enough
And also, is NYU Steinhardt competitive? Even the Communication program?

any other input?? :/

bummmmmmmp

Grad school chancing is just not the same as undergraduate chancing in many cases.

I’d love to help you beyond giving advice pertaining to the GRE (I know, the ones who could get in with 3.7 while not having any mass communication experience have high GRE scores and great recs as well) but I simply cannot.
