^ Don't feed the troll

^ What's that supposed to mean?

It means that you are a troll. I got a verbal less than 500 and got in Wharton. SATs are VERY important, but they aren't even close to everything. I personly tink that essays and EC are more importan in Ivy schools, rather than some test that can be taken over and over again.........

i think good chances...looks stronger than me, and i got in ;-)

GYMCLASSHEROES

thanks guys, so u think i should focus a bit more on upping my EC's and my GPA rather than SAT?

first of all, im not a troll. second of all, i stand by my statement about the SATs. Considering his GPA can hardly be improved much further, he needs something to make up for his weak ECs. The only other solution, besides recs and essays, are upping his SAT scores to a level where they cant deny him.

Although there are many things you can do, UPenn is a school which does have a tendency to "go by the scores", so if you have any opportunities to boost your SAT, GPA, or class rank, you should most surely do it.

ok, my school is currently offering an SAT prep class. the first SAT i took was without any prep, not even a practice test. i wasnt gonna do it cuz i thought a 1480 was good enough for Penn, but im guessing it would be a wise decision to take the course and retake the SAT? feedback plzzzzz!!!!

4.76 W GPA?????? Honestly, if you don't get in, I'm soooooooooooo screwed. Actually, very very impressive. You should broaden your horizons a little bit more though, I think you should be considering Princeton, Yale, and Stanford--if you're a sunny weather person. The fact of the matter is that you'll get into everywhere that you apply...My high school sent 7 to Harvard (only 2 actually went, weird) and you would probably be ranked #1 or 2 in that class...

thx pdef! so colleges actually look at your weighted GPA as well as yur unweighted. also, i decided not to take Calc BC next year, but will replace it with and honors or AP course.

I don't know about the weighted GPA thing, I was just trying to correlate that with the distribution @ my school...that GPA would've ranked you #2

2!? look man i hafta say ur chances at penn are slim to none. id recommend johns hopkins, unless u can up ur GPA/SATs

ok...im getting a slim to none and a probable yes for my early decision application to Penn. Which one????

You have a reasonable chance

On another note, I think you should put Asian on your application (since the area that was formerly Persia is part of Asia)

So much hate...look at this kid, if he's not perfect for Penn I don't know what is, He's 75-80% in at this point, if not better

hey pdef ive got nothin against u man ive seen ur previous posts ur a nice guy...just a bit too nice. Id say hes only about 35-40% in at this point.

Penn is difficult to call because there often seems to be no rhyme or reason for a person's acceptance or rejection. At my school this year, 17 people applied early to Penn and 6 were admitted. All 6 had legacy or some sort of connection to the school, even though several who were deferred or rejected had higher GPAs/SATs than those who were admitted. It also depends on the school within Penn that one is applying to, but overall it seems that in Penn's early decision round, seemingly minor factors such as legacy play a big part of who does and does not get accepted.

if my parent and ancestors were Libyan, but i was born and raised in America.. does that make me African-American... And if not.. would i be in trouble if i put African American on my application.

that was my question as well, but apparently as long as u regard ur self as african-american in day to day activities then it makes sense. if not just write libyan.

sry for bein so harsh on u bro, despite ur slim chances i wish u luck wherever u apply
