33 ACT
English-33
Math-35
Reading-31
Science-34

3.96 unweighted GPA
SAT subject tests come in tomorrow. I took Math II and Physics. Expecting mid-to-high 700s in math and high 600s-low 700s for physics.

Very good EC's
Played both lacrosse and track & field for my high school. Very involved in my church. Founded a prayer group at school, traveled with mission teams to inner-city Baltimore and Scotland, and I'm the senior leader of my church's student ministry. Volunteered a lot through both church and other local organizations. Involved in several clubs throughout high school, as well as being recognized in Gifted and Talented leadership since 4th grade by teachers.

Also, my Grandfather went to Princeton for undergrad, so I'm a legacy applicant.

hey
you are in the running, but I still think it’s a relatively high reach for you. 33 ACT is in a good range, but many will have better. Same with GPA. WHat clubs throughout hs?
Chance me back!

Are you sure a grandparent makes you a legacy at Princeton? I thought it was just a parent.

They look at both parents and grandparents.
Clubs: NHS, beta, OAR club (spirit club), FCA, natural helpers…
Also, I’ve been a part of American Private Enterprise System. It’s a business club I was selected to be in. For this, we met 3 times on field trips and took several tests. I was the top scorer in my county and also won a scholarship at the state level. This year I’ll compete as the Junior Leader at both county and state levels. Thanks guys!

Also, I’ve worked during part of high school. Left that out earlier.

Another thing…I once saw that some of the top universities prefer angular students over well-rounded. I like to think of myself as a well-rounded person, but at the same time, much of my volunteer work and leadership falls under the parochial category.

I think you have a chance, but it’s definitely still a reach. Then again, I haven’t yet known anyone who could say Princeton isn’t a reach. Good luck!

Yea, that’s the truth. Thanks a lot!

Nothing special. unless your family is very important alumni or you are nationally ranked athlete in your sports, it’s not really going to happen most likely. if you had maybe a perfect SAT score, they’d let you in b/c you’re legacy. and maybe if you wrote some AMAZAZAZAZING essays, you’d have a better chance, but nothings really jumpin’ off the page here. it could still happen though. :)
