How is your uwGPA in 4.0 scale? Your should be in the match to high match range.
uwGPA is approximately a 3.3.
That is a bit low. It would be a high match to low reach then.
Your GPA is a little low but you have a lot else going on for you. I applied to Purdue 4 years ago I’m going to Iowa for biomedical engineering, I got into Purdue pretty easily with a 30 ACT I didn’t take the SAT and my GPA was 3.6. In terms of applying for these schools you need to look at specific engineering programs if you have any idea of what type of engineering you want to go into. I know a few people that actually transferred from Purdue because they weren’t happy there. At the end of the day in engineering you want a program that will not only teach you what you need to know but give you the experience in the classes themselves.
I had a 31 ACT, 2150 SAT, 3.9 (4.0 scale)GPA, swimming 4 yrs, volleyball 2yrs, NHS 2 yrs, and my school didn’t offer many clubs. I had upwards of five hundred community service hours and I spent a summer lifeguarding. I got into Princeton, but not Purdue. Colleges love the Eagle Scout, and the fact you want to be in ROTC is a plus. All the clubs are good, but are those steady? Do you do them all throughout high school? Or are you doing one one year and another another year? Colleges like steady extracurriculars. However, Purdue probably won’t accept you due to your GPA being under 3.5. Any “top tier” school would. If it were reversed and your SATs were bad but your GPA was stellar, you would be fine, but unfortunately for you, colleges like grades better. However, you should look into leadership scholarships at schools. I know a kid who had horrible SATs, an average GPA, but was an Eagle Scout and because of that and positions he held as officers in several organizations, he got a partial leadership scholarship to UVA. Schools who value leadership in their academic pledge would probably be more likely to accept you.
