Hey!
I'm applying from Rice from out of state and want to know what my chances are of getting in.
ACT: 29
English: 29
Math: 35
Reading: 25 :(
Science: 27
Writing 8

GPA: 3.85 (this will go up after this semester)
The reason my GPA is kind of low is because I take challenging classes at my school (Genetics, Embryology, Human Anatomy, Latin 4, Science Seminar, Physics III, Calculus II, etc.) Also, I go to a high school that is ranked number 1 in my state (Louisiana.) This is a residential high school that teachers courses at the college level.
I am very active in school (president of Junior Classical League, Treasurer of Earthcare, Secretary of Key Club. I'm in the Future Scientist Program, Classical Scholars Program, Student Activity Board, Helping Hands, Animal Welfare, Science Quiz-bowl, Salsa for Children etc.)
I also shadow different doctors in the summer as well as volunteer at hospitals and clinics.
I am also an ambassador for my current school and a peer mentor (tutor.)
The one bad thing about this is that on my transcript, I have a W for Biochemistry. I decided to take this course because I thought it was interesting, but I didn't realize that Organic Chemistry was a perquisite, so I had to drop it. I couldn't add Organic the same semester because the class was already full. I will explain this on my Rice application.
The teacher I asked to write my recommendation letter loves me! So, she should write me a very good letter of recommendation!
Also, I'm Middle Eastern if that helps

What do you think my chances are of getting into Rice?
