Thanks in advance to anyone that helps

Currently i'm an Freshman undergrad in RU Newark for nursing, but my intended goal (because i know more people in NB, and i live way closer to the campus) coming out of high school was to go to NB. However, without giving me an explanation, they removed the school from my Rutgers Status thing in the application. According to the school-to-school transfer application site, I can only transfer in the fall, needing at least a 3.0GPA (which I have(actually its higher)) and at least 24 credits in newark, which I will have at the end of the 2nd semester.

I had also talked to a co-worker of mine, who attends RU NB (business major) and she told me that my transfer application will be viewed at "the bottom of the pile" of apps even if I come from Rutgers Nursing.

Is this true? Will my app be at the bottom? And How hard will it be to be accepted?

Again, thanks.

The only way to get into NB nursing is to have a high gpa and completed nursing classes. Since you’re already in the nursing program at newark, you shouldn’t have a problem filling the curriculum requirements, so just follow the schedule they give. I cannot stress the importance of a high gpa enough! A competitive gpa for the NB program is probably a 3.7 or above so that will need to be a priority. They seem to be very open to school-to-school transfers.

I got in last fall as a school-to-school transfer from another program within rutgers NB, so let me know if you have anymore questions!

2 more questions, thanks

1) If I do get accepted to NB, is Expository equivalent to English comp I and English comp II? Or will I have to take expository upon my first semester in NB?

2)Do you know how many school-to-school transfers NB nursing gets from incoming sophomores?

Sorry for the double post, but one last questions along with my 2 previous ones.

I was accepted into NB for SAS, does that help raise my chances?

If those are the classes listed on the newark curriculum, they should fulfill those requirements in NB as well.

I believe we had 15-20ish school-to-school transfer people when I got in. I don’t know how it works between newark & Nb though since I was already in NB SAS. I don’t know if you being accepted into SAS will affect your chances…the college of nursing is completely separate and it’s more important that you’re already in the nursing program in nwk.

I suggest meeting with Denise Santangelo (santange@rutgers.edu), the NB administrative assistant, because she knows everything and gives advice to students trying to get in.

Thanks thatsthekey, you’ve been a big help.

Hey I was just wondering were you able to transfer to new brunswick nursing with your gpa?
