Hello! I just signed up for college confidential~

Okay so... do I have chances of getting into Rutgers Pharmacy??

GPA: 4.2 (idk if this is unweighted because I don't know anything about unweighted/weighted but it's what the school said my gpa was so is this my official gpa that i show rutgers?)
=so I am not completely sure about my gpa so these are my grades....
==all honors classes (except one music class which I have an A+ in), a couple AP classes (Chem and Physics), A's and B's in all.....

I'm out of state (Pennsylvania) and am Asian (I heard this was a disadvantage when applying?).

SAT score- 1880 (1290 old SAT)... but I'm definitely retaking because I didn't study for this one and aiming for around 2250? hopefully.. What would be a good score? If I just past the 2000's is that fine?

SAT II's.. I heard that Rutgers doesn't really look at SAT II's? I didn't take any except for Physics, which I did horribly on (620). Planning to take SAT II Chem, Bio, Korean

Extracurriculars- piano (won several awards), violin (school orchestra), track (ehh), 190 hrs of volunteering, National Honor Society
--------I don't have that much but doesn't Rutgers look mainly at gpa and SAT scores?

Do I have a good chance at Rutgers Pharmacy? I probably need to raise my SAT score a whole lot right? Does everything else look fine? Rutgers Pharmacy would be the perfect school for me at the moment and I really want to get in.

Oh and also, would this be good for USP pharmacy or UPitt? I'm also applying there.

SAT’s count a whole helluva lot more with this program.
Get those SAT’s to 2150+ and you’re a shoo in. Don’t quit your activities though. They’re good enough.

Yes, it is true that SAT2’s don’t count for much in admissions for Rutger’s Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy. The two main things they take into account are SAT1’s and GPA. Well, I’m pretty sure your GPA is weighted, because it is impossible to have a uw gpa above 4.0 (unless you’re on the 5.0 scale). That GPA seems pretty good, and your class rigor isn’t bad either. However, I would really really try to bring up that SAT score over the summer up to maybe a 2000-2100. The median range of accepted students there is around that range. I remember I was “in process” for the pharmacy program, up until I sent in my new Nov SAT scores. I was admitted 3 days later after they received the scores :D

Remember that they superscore your subsections, so you can try doing well on one section at a time. Good luck!

Also, your extracurriculars seem good enough.

USP and Upitt are really easy to get into. Rutgers is the toughest to get in. USP is also driven by stats (SAT and GPA), but you have a better chance there because they have lower standards. However, the program only has a 75% retention rate, so I would be careful when it comes to deciding. As for UPitt, if you do some research on the site, as long as you meet the minimum requirements, you’re in. Since they offer a conditional admission, it’s not a direct program (but if you maintain your GPA in college, they guarentee you a seat in the professional phase).

I was originally thinking that if I got into Rutgers, I would go there, but now I decided on St. John’s. If you’re interested in 6 year pharmD programs, I would suggest you also research St. John’s (they’re actually really generous with FA if you have good stats), MCPHS, UOP, Northeastern, and URI. Good luck!
