Hello! I am a high school junior, now rising to my senior year. I would like to apply to the Nursing Program at Rutgers New Brunswick this fall and I was wondering if I had a chance. (I also posted this on the “What Are My Chances” thread…hehe)
These are my stats:
- Live in New Jersey
- First generation asian female
- 1920 SAT score (1300 CR and Math)
- GPA (only of freshman and sophomore year) (unweighted out of 4.0): 3.1 (I am confident I can raise this to maybe 3.4-3.5 by the end of this year)
- GPA (freshman and sophomore) (Weighted out of 7.0): 5.7 (I am confident I can raise this by the end of the year)
- 300+ of volunteer hours. I am currently volunteering at a hospital for 4 hours every week, about 4-5 hours feeding the homeless in Philly every week, I babysit occasionally, help out my bio teacher once a week during my study hall period, and help out at my church for children programs during the summer (I will be helping with the nursing station at the hospital I currently volunteer at this summer)
- I have been doing a martial-arts that involves sword fighting since 7th grade (going to test for my 1st degree black belt this May)
- Co-founder/co-leader of a club at my school of the martial arts I do, elected to be co-leader for a dance club next year (I have done it for the past 3 years), was on my tennis team for freshman and sophomore year, have done choir for 3 years and will continue next year (I am in my school's top auditioned choir)
- I have taken AP Bio, AP physics, and Pre. Calc Honors this year.
- Will take AP English, AP Psychology, AP Calc, AP Chem, and Human Anatomy Honors next year
I am afraid that I might not get in due to my SAT scores and GPA. I will be applying early action.
What are my chances? Thank you for reading this!
