Chances of getting into SDSU?

I'm currently a senior in hs and I was wondering how low or high my chances are of getting in

Residency: Northern California
Major: Undecided (I want to take some intro classes to subjects I find interesting before I decide. I do know that I want to minor is east asian studies)
Race/Gender: Asian/Pacific Islander female
GPA: 3.8 (3.5 UW)
SAT: 1020 (CR 470 Math 550) I know it's not impressive at all. I'm taking it 2 more times. I'm pretty confident I can get both categories to 550+
ACT: not yet taken (side note, what's a good score I should aim for?)
AP/H Classes: APEH (1), APUSH (2), Chem H, AP Gov, AP Lit, AP Stats
Class Rank: 63/326

Also, does SDSU look at your actual grades? Or only GPA? I screwed up junior year and got 3 C's (2 first semester and 1 2nd semester. Damn chemistry)

First calculate your CSU GPA: <a href=“Cal State Apply | CSU”>Cal State Apply | CSU;

Then calculate your Eligibility Index: (CSU GPA x800) + (SAT M+CR). If you around a 3900+ EI, then you have a good chance for acceptance.
SDSU will rank each applicant by their EI and major. They then start with the highest EI and accept until all the seats are filled.

All CSU’s will base their acceptance on the CSU GPA and SAT/ACT scores (EI). They will look at your grades and course rigor to make sure you meet the a-g requirements.

Good Luck.

I have similar SAT scores to you… An ACT score you should shoot for is 26-28. I got 24 and took it twice- same score :/

Thanks! I’m just above 4000. Can you clarify what you mean by rank by major and EI? Do they take the highest EI of each major and go from there?

Yes, they take the highest EI for each major and then accept until all the spots are filled. A point of reference for the EI is for very competitive majors such as Engineering, Bio and Business, a 4100+ gives you a good chance.
