Chances of Getting into Stanford???

<p>Hi! So I just joined College Confidential, and I've read many threads with the topic of "what are my chances of getting into Stanford," etc., so I'm curious as to what you all think my chances would be </p>

<p>I've been in love with Stanford since forever; it is a university that has always appealed to me greatly, and I desperately want to get in. So far these are my credentials and such...</p>

<p>Grade: 10
Rank: #11, in the top 10% (My school is really competitive; total of 200 sophomores)
Unweighted GPA: about a 96 (4.0)
AP Courses being taken this year:
-AP World History
-AP Statistics </p>

<p>Schedule and Courses being taken in the next two years:
(I.B Diploma)
HL Chemistry, SL Biology, SL Physics
HL English
I.B Math, SUPA (Syracuse University) Calculus
HL History of America
HL French
..... you get the point </p>

<p>I Took the PSAT and had a 205, which is pretty bad but am studying and rooting for a 220-230 on my PSAT next fall so I have a chance at the National Merit Scholarship </p>

<p>I'll be taking my SAT Math I and World History test this summer or the closest test date around that time </p>

<p>Awards:
Presidential Volunteering Award <---8th grade
Honorable Mention winner for Toshiba Exploravision <---8th grade<br>
A Few small local art 1st places
(I think there is some other small stuff but that's basically it)</p>

<p>Current Involvements:
-Student Council Representative
-Volunteering at the local hospital
-Interact (school volunteering group)
-Tennis (I'm an avid tennis player, not stellar, but I love tennis!)
-Concert Band (Bassoonist); I also play the piano, not for band though...
-Academic All Stars </p>

<p>I'm Indian:</p>

<p>Speaks four languages: Oriya, Hindi, English, French (currently learning) </p>

<p>I know, I'm currently working on expanding myself and trying to do better in my interests such as dancing, art, etc. but in the area that I live in, there aren't very many opportunities. Also I know my rank isn't great; does rank matter a lot? Do you guys think I'm on the right track? Please give me your input! I get really stressed out because I feel like I'm not good enough to get accepted, but know that I have the capability to succeed in an environment such as Stanford's! And if not Stanford, do you think I have chances of getting into any Ivy League schools based on what I've accumulated so far?</p>

<p>Rank: can matter…
EC: Good, but light from the POV of a finished application
Academics: seems solid and even, but you have left the heavy lifting for late
Succeeding: I am sure you will. Unfortunately, that is not the criterion used for admission.
Suggestion: create opportunity; take ownership</p>

<p>Right now: insufficient evidence for Stanford or for other top 20 schools. Cannot even say if you are on right track for admission. That said, you appear to be on solid ground…a good thing…</p>
