Any replies back on my chances of getting in and any advice on how to increase my chances would be much appreciated (:
Not sure which one is your science score since you put Math twice, but overall you look like you have a great chance! Since it is harder for OOS to get in, I recommend maybe trying to get your ACT up a bit. However, Tech does have a holistic review process and does not solely rely on grades and scores, so make sure you perfect your essays and I think you will have a great chance!
@nc6543 Biomedical Engineering and Computer Science are the most competitive majors to get in at Georgia Tech (at least what I heard from an information session while I was there).
I’m thinking that you have a decent shot, but it could go either way and it wouldn’t surprise me. You should get on the GT thread of this past year and look and look at some of the stats people posted. It seemed like a tough admissions cycle.
Are your parents willing to pay OOS $$ for GT? They’re not super generous with OOS scholarships.
Being a female and applying for engineering also gives you a advantage since Tech really tried to increase their ratio. But yea like the above post said, it could go either way.
@EF431x I was referring to Math level 2 subject SAT I got a 720 on that and a 680 on the Biology Molecular test so that would be my science score but I’m not sure if I should send those. But ya I’m hoping my essay will just help me go from like the waitlisted group to the accepted (:
@SouthFloridaMom9 Ya that’s what everyone has said like I can see myself getting rejected, waitlisted or accepted like any of the three ways. And ya I’m really lucky and thankful that my parents are able to pay for tuition without a problem, they’ve told me to apply for whichever schools I like and as long as they have good programs they’ll pay no matter the price tag.
@indy101 Ya I’ve heard that since engineering is typically a male dominated field that being a female gives you a slight advantage since they want to close the gap.
