Hello everyone!
My name is Celeritily (not actually haha), and I am currently a sophomore in high school.
I realize that I'm a bit late in starting to prepare for college so things have been really stressful and worrying for me lately.
Anyway, my dream is to become a pediatric psychiatrist so I am looking towards some premed undergraduate degrees or perhaps a degree in biology or psychology.
I am interested in going to Texas A&M for my undergrad because although it's not particularly well known for its medical program, I heard that it has an amazing medical research center and library.

Unfortunately for me, I'm not exactly the best, ideal student for medical school. I attend an extremely competitive school district so my freshman ranking is something that I'm not exactly proud of.
I'm not sure how to calculate my GPA to the 4.0 scale because our district goes on a 5.0 scale. Anyway, my GPA last year was a 3.8 out of a possible 4.48 (the GPA I could have gotten if I had maxed all of my classes). I took one AP class, two regular elective classes, and my four remaining classes were all honors classes.

However, I know that my GPA is really bad and although I'll work really hard for my sophomore and junior year, I don't have the confidence to make top 10%.

I don't have a mile long list of all the community service that I have done but I am in our school's NHS chapter as well as the HOSA organization. Also, I volunteer at a homeless shelter every week and this past summer, I went on a mission trip to Africa. I have not taken the SAT yet but I am planning to take it this winter.

So to all of the people currently attending Texas A&M or for those planning to attend... what do you think my chances are of making it into that school?
If you could give any kind of advice, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks so much!
