I think you have a pretty good chance.
Yea I would say so also you have a good chance
Does it matter that I’m an out of state student?
Im also in 5 IB classes and 3 advanced/ honors classes. I just didn’t do well in my freshman year:(
You should get in. Your ACT score is well above the average.
I also work 2 jobs and work around 20 hrs a week does that look good on the application?
It won’t hurt your application, but I don’t think it will matter much to the admissions office.
Even if i do get in, how much in aid do you think I would get? (I’m middle class btw)
^Unfortunately, probably none.
Pitt doesn’t give a whole lot of need based aid and their merit scholarship guidelines are on their website. ACT 33 is their lower threshold for receiving merit although someone with an ACT 32 did report merit on CC last year.
@carachel2 do you know how much they received?
@katdeb --found it! Looks like $5,000 per year.
Our daughter just received her big yellow envelope in the mail today, and she is outside of the posted guidelines. She received $5,000 per year, $20,000 total. Her details are: OOS (Ohio) - 31 ACT, 4.3 Weighted GPA, 7 AP, all others honor classes, lots of XC. She was accepted into Dietrich Arts & Sciences for Pre-AP. She is Honors College eligible. It will still be significantly more expensive for her to go to Pitt than Ohio State with in-state tuition and a scholarship, but Pitt is her #1. So, we’ll see. Still waiting on responses from Notre Dame and Case Western. Don’t give up hope yet for your yellow envelope! Good luck and congratulations to everyone else on their scholarship offers! #H2P
