Chances of getting into these boarding schools?

Hi my name is Elizabeth, I am from South Jersey and I am applying to these schools as a repeat 9th grader- Lawrenceville, Exeter, Andover, Deerfield, Groton, Loomis Chaffee, and Blair Academy. I am applying as a repeat 9th grader because of my age (I am a year younger than everyone else) and I want to make sure that I am fully prepared before I go to BS. I will need full financial aid.

I already went to the interviews for most of them (besides Lville and Blair which I will be doing in
December) but the rest of the interviews were amazing and they told my parents what a lovely child I was. I have all A’s but this marking period I got a B in English Honors : (. I have been dancing pretty much all my life, I run track and do field (high jump) and I also play tennis. I used to play the violin but I want to continue that next year.

I was in National Junior Honor Society where I did various community service acts and tutored younger kids. I also volunteered at a Living Home where I entertained the elderly. I am currently in the Foreign Language Club, Interact Club, Health Careers Club, and Steppers with Style. Also, during my 8th grade graduation I was awarded the Principal’s Award for not only my leadership skills that I portrayed, but also my for grades. My teachers are going to send the recommendations soon and I know they will be great because I am a really good student.

My courses include- English Language Arts I Honors, Dance I, World History Honors, French II, Physical Ed,. Biology Honors, and Algebra

As for SSAT I will be taking those on Jan 6 and I know I will do well on those because I study every day for it so my goal is 90% and up. I tool the Character Skills Snapshot as well.

What do you guys think my chances would be for these schools? Please be honest I am still working on the essays but I think I will do well on those too.

P.S My brother and my sister both graduated from Lville so I have a little legacy there.

Also I am a black female and my parents are from Haiti

You’ve got a very good chance in my opinion at all the schools, but especially at Lawrenceville, which has presumably already extended generous financial aid for your siblings. You might want to carefully compare your accomplishments with those of your brother and sister, especially test scores when you get them. But, overall, being a black female puts you in a very enviable position for admittance at many elite schools. Best of luck!

Be careful, don’t share you’re name on a public forum, AO’S might spot you!

Thank you both!

If anyone else wants to put their input, don’t hesitate!
