Chances of getting into these schools?

<p>Hey everyone,</p>

<p>I just want some feedback of my chances of getting into these schools: University of Pittsburgh, UMass Amherst, University of Rhode Island, SUNY Albany, UConn, and University of Colorado. </p>

<p>I scored a 1900 out of 2400 on my SAT's the first time and im still waiting to get my second round results back (should be about 15 more days). I scored a 29 on my ACT's and did not take them a second time. </p>

<p>My GPA is a 3.2.</p>

<p>I moved to a completely new are at the start of my junior year and it was a big "slip up" for me if you will regarding my grades. I understand this isnt a valid excuse I just like to point out why my grades were lower then before.</p>

<p>For the interest of time I'll only list the core classes and grades i received but if you think other information about electives can be helpful then let me now.</p>

<p>Freshman Year:
Accelerated Geometery - B+
Biology- B+
Freshman English- A
World Cultures- A-
Spanish- A-</p>

<p>Sophomore Year:
Chemistry- B
British Lit- B+
Debate- A-
Algebra 2/Trig - C+<br>
Spanish-B</p>

<p>Junior Year (very hard year academically)
AP BIO- C+ (got a 3 on the ap test)
Physics Honors- C
Precalculus- B-
US History 1- B
Accelerated English (AP level course)- C
Spanish- C</p>

<p>What I am taking now senior year
AP Stats - B+ so far
Anatomy &Physiology - A- so far
Contemporary Lit- B so far
Calculus Honors- B+ s far
Us History 2- A so far</p>

<p>I have ran cross country for two years of high school at the JV level, I played tennis for three years at the varsity level and have been swimming both for my school all 4 years and also for clubs since I was 5. With my first high school we won back-to-back state championship titles and then at my new school I have set 2 school records in swimming.</p>

<p>I have done a moderate amount of volunteer work while in High School. Also, and I'm not sure if this matters but the high school I go to has a very high reputation and is considered one of the hardest/strongest public high schools in Massachusetts. </p>

<p>You should be able to get into any of those schools. All those schools average accepted student is about 3.45uw gpa and 1800 SAT schools.
UMass Amherst: 3.44uw & 1850 SAT
University of Colorado: 3.36uw & 1790 SAT
University of Rhode Island: 3.31uw & 1710 SAT
UConn: 3.5uw & 1830 SAT
SUNY Albany: 3.32uw & 1800 SAT
University of Pittsburgh: 3.53uw & 1863 SAT
But that means 50% had lower stats and 50% higher so you never know. I was just accepted to University of Pittsburgh with a 3.3uw 3.59w and a SAT score of 1940 and you have similar stats so it shouldn’t be a problem.</p>

<p>Just curious, how long ago did you send in your app to Pitt?</p>

<p>My completed application was sent on October 1st (app,transcript,scores) and i got my acceptance letter October 13th.</p>
