I currently go to tutoring to increase my score for the ACT (those scores are from my first try). I've been getting 33/34s on the practice exams.

The more difficult schools i plan on applying to are:

Columbia University
Barnard College
UCLA
University of Chicago
University of Southern California
NYU

Thanks everyone.

I’ll then suppose that an academic honor roll requires a 3.8+, and I will chance you at 3.8/31.

Columbia: Reach
Barnard: Reach
UCLA: High match
UChicago: Reach (pay attention to your essays)
USC: High match
NYU: High match

Do you have safeties?

Sorry forgot about that. My GPA is a 3.98 unweighted and weight a 4.25. I do have some safeties just in case im not able to attend these schools.

anyone else?

what are my chances if i get a 33 composite on that act?

With the 3.98 and 31, and assuming UCLA is out of state:

U Chicago: reach
Columbia: reach
NYU: low reach/high match
USC: low reach/ high match
Barnard: low reach/high match
UCLA: high match

So your chances are probably not better than 40% to get into any of them, but there are five such shots, do I think you have a pretty decent chance of getting into one.

And I think a 33 increases your chances at all but Columbia and Chicago, who are riddled with ultra-high-quality apps.

Columbia University- reach
Barnard College- reach
UCLA- high match
University of Chicago- high reach
University of Southern California- match
NYU- high reach
