Chances of Getting into Tisch???

So in the spring of 2012, I will be graduating a full year early. I will be applying this November early admission to the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music, which is part of Tisch at NYU. I guess I have two questions really. First of all, does graduating early have a detrimental effect on my chances of getting into college? They won't be able to have as much information on me, but the information they WILL have is pretty good.

ACT: 33 composite, 35 English, 33 Math, 34 Reading, 29 Science, 9 Writing
I have not taken the SAT because NYU only requires either the ACT or the SAT

AP Calculus AB: 5
AP US History: 5

I have worked really hard for my grades, so I only have one A- for both years of high school that I have attended.

Extracurriculars:
Paid solo performer for professional events (I have done everything from summer concert series to luncheons and galas)
Produced my own professionally recorded EP (6 original songs)
Musical theater within school and community
Dance company secretary
Best Buddies volunteer
Humane Society Volunteering
Gave piano lessons for awhile

This year I plan on doing journalism, National Honors Society, and our school literary magazine.

I hate posting this like a laundry list, it makes me look obnoxious.

Anyway what do you think my chances are of getting in? And will the whole graduating early thing get in the way of my admissions, since they won't be able to see THIS year's AP scores?

Thanks!

Hellllooooo please someone!

for Tisch, it’s really hard to tell. Grades are some of it, but especially for recorded music (which only accepts a few students), admission has to do mostly with your portfolio. Your grades are obviously there (great ACT score!), and you seem to have really good music experience. I’d say you have an amazing chance!

Thank you so much for responding :)

HEY! I might be applying to Tisch as well! I still can’t make up my mind yet for which school but TIsch is one of them! If I apply to Tisch, I will apply for film / television. I visited Tisch over the summer and pretty much their deciding factor for the applicants is based on their portfolios. The portfolios are SUCH A BIG DEAL for admissions! So, my advice is, try to work on your portfolio as much as possible! Show people your portfolio once you’re finished with it so you can get their insights. Moreover, show any professors / instructors for their constructed criticism! I HOPE THIS HELPS!!!

Thank you so much! Hope to see you there  good luck!
