Hi, I am a senior girl at a highly ranked public school in the northeast (in top ten public schools in my state). My top two choices right now are Georgetown and Tufts University, but I don’t think I would get in. Here are my stats:
SAT: 2100 (Superscore)
Math- 680
CR- 700
Writing 720
SAT 2
US History- 710
*I am taking two more in October–Lit and Math 1
GPA: 94.93 weighted (we don’t use 4.0 scale at my school)
My AP Classes for all of high school are AP World (scored 5), AP US History (scored 5), AP Art History (scored 5), AP Literature (scored 5) and the ones I’m taking this year are AP Government, AP Environmental Science, AP Lang, and AP Studio Art
So 8 total APs.
I also have taken a total of 10 honors courses throughout high school.
My best classes are English and History classes, and I want to be a Political Science major. The things really bringing my GPA down are math and science, as seen in my transcript every year, those grades are always around the same and lower than the others. But i am taking Calculus this year which my guidance counselor said colleges like to see.
P.S. i took french for 3 years too

My high school is very competitive and a lot of kids apply to Georgetown and Tufts. I am not top ten percent in my class and we don’t do rankings, just top ten percent. I would definitely be in the top 25 percent though at least, if my school did that. I am also a twin to my brother who has almost the same gpa as me (94.4) but has an SAT of 2240. He’s trying to get recruited for a sport but if he doesn’t, he wants to apply to these schools as well. His only EC is crew, though. Would he get in over me since he has higher SAT scores?
Other than these schools, I really love BU, GWU, NYU, Wake Forest, and am hoping to maybe get a scholarship to American University, in which case i would consider going there.
Please let me know what you think! I can take all the help and advice I can get. Thanks!
