I'm a junior and am just trying to consider my chances of getting into Tufts, Holy Cross, North Eastern, and Muhlenberg.

I am 9/100 in my class (small class especially for a public school)
I have a 97.7 GPA weighted (my school just converted to numbers so I am not sure what it is unweighted)

SAT:
CR: 600
M: 590
W: 580
Planning to retake them, also taking the ACT this month.
A.P.:
European History
Statistics
English Language
U.S. History

Next year I am doing a program in my school that allows me to attended the local community college for half my day, taking classes in English, Psychology, Child Psych, Government, and Macro-Economics.

EC:
3 years on Rowing - stroked girls varsity 8 as a sophmore, NYSSRA (New York State Scholastic Rowing Association) Scholar
Interact Club
Honor Society
French Club
Volunteer at local hospital
Band, Choir

You have an excellent chance at Holy Cross as they are SAT optional.

Thanks I really do like Holy Cross especially since their Crew team doesn’t practice at 6 in the morning. :)

also Girl Scout since Kindergarten if that helps

Test scores are probably too low for Tufts, unless their coach wants to recruit you. OTOH, being full pay and ED might help a lot.

I know Tufts is a reach for tests but I kinda went into the SAT’s blind so I’m actually studying for the ACT this time and really want to get a 30, and I won’t know for sure if I don’t try! I also want to know does holding a part time job help in applications?

A 30 is the bottom quartile at Tufts – still too low, unless you have a hook. You should aim for 32+, particularly since you are female.

Sadly I don’t really have a hook, just your middle class white girl.

I also have a question since my school went from letter grades to number grades they “say” on our transcripts they will give us the benefit of the doubt and give us the highest number to the letter grade. e.g. A+ would be 100 etc. Will that help me at all or were they putting unneeded emphasis on it?
