Hey, I am currently a US high school student with US/Canada dual citizenship. I have a 4.3 GPA and 1290 on the SAT. Course wise I have taken all the necessary courses already that both of these programs require. I wanted to know if I had a chance of getting into UBC’s BA or BS program. I have heard that the BS program is already pretty competitive and I wanted to know if that was true at the Okanagan campus as well.
What is your unweighted GPA? What grade are you in?
My understanding is that admission to the Okanagan campus is not quite as competitive as admission to the Vancouver campus. However, others might know more about this. Of course there are other very good universities in BC and in Canada as well.
We do have some experience with a US high school student with dual citizenship going to university in Canada. Feel free to ask any questions that come to mind. In our experience the admissions staff at universities in Canada are quite helpful also.
Sorry, I didn’t mention this, I am currently a senior in high school with a 3.73 unweighted GPA. I have taken AP World, AP US History, AP Physics C:M, AB Calc AB and BC, AP Macro, and AP US Gov, AP English Literature, and AP English Language.
