Chances of getting into UC Berkeley Out-of-state? What are some colleges I have a good shot at?

I’m going into 11th grade, planning to take 6 honors/higher level classes (5 IB, 1 Honors which is linear Algebra).

(If it matters) Race/gender: Indian male

Intended major: Physics

Received A’s in all my STEM classes except physics honors where I got a B+

(Note: It is required for freshman to take standard history, and required for freshman and sophomore to take standard english)

Unweighted GPA for sophomore year: 3.78, UC GPA: 4.00

of honors classes: 5 (AP US History, Multivariable Calc, Chem Honors, Physics Honors, standard English, Spanish 3 honors)

Unweighted GPA for freshman year: 3.82

of honors classes: 1 (Standard history, Standard english, Biology, Spanish 2, Differential equations)

APs:
5 on AP calc AB (8th grade)
5 on AP calc BC (9th grade, self studied)
5 on APUSH (10th grade)
5 on AP physics C Mechanics (10th grade, self studied)
5 on AP physics C Electricity/Magnetism (10th grade, self studied)

Received AP Scholar with Distinction

SAT: 2230, 800 on SAT math II, 690 on SAT US History (won’t report), planning on taking SAT Physics and getting 800

94.5 on AMC 12B, 2015
Participated in F=ma exam, score unknown
Part of Robotics/Engineering and math clubs at my school
Part of the Cross Country/Track teams at my school, not varsity
Part of school orchestra and outside orchestra (violin II)
I do volunteering as well at a school for disabled kids
In 9th grade I did an internship in computational chemistry that included a final presentation, I’m going to start a physics internship this year

It is impossible to chance you since you have not finished Junior year. You are on the right track and you look like a competitive applicant. My one question is can you afford to attend UCB with the possiblity of being full pay at $55K/year.? As an OOS student, you will receive little to no FA so expect to pay at the minimum the extra OOS tuition of $23K/year (expect an 8% increase in the next few years) plus your EFC.

The first question is always the same when it comes to OOS UCs – can you afford it? They’re 55k OOS and offer little to no FA. Can you afford it?

Other than that, your GPA looks a little low for Berkeley, and your ECs are a little generic. Try to raise your GPA a lot in junior year and try to make your ECs a little more unique. They see SO many kids with the usual track/robotics/math team combo.

You need to calculate your UC GPA for chancing which is not possible without junior grades and schedule. Nevertheless, your current GPA is a bit on the low side for that.
