Getting into UCs out of state is kind of sketchy unless you’re scores and gpa are both super high. What is your actual UC GPA? (being out of state does not matter, since the classes and credits are listed online so you can convert it yourself). You should get into UCI, but contrary to popular belief, it is pretty competitive due to a large asian population and applicant pool. I would make sure to include it in your essay that you are in fact moving to Irvine, CA. I really think you will get in, at least you have a big chance. UCLA will be a reach since they are more of a formulaic admission school (test scores + gpa). USC is a low-mid match. Do you mind if I ask what ethnicity you are? I live literally next to UCI and have many friends who go there. Basically what I’m getting to is that the school is really asian-oriented and has little diversity. Not that much going on either in terms of social life. Can you chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1411905-chance-ucla-ucb-michigan-uva-vanderbilt.html

Im going to be commuting, I am indian, if my honors courses counted, my gpa would be more than 4.4, hopefully they take that into consideration

Sister got into UCLA with a 3.65 UW GPA and 1980 on her SAT.
She wrote fantastic essays. Make sure your essays are remarkable, and if there’s anyway you can elaborate more on the types of extracurrics you did?

thanks for the response!
