Chances of getting into UCLA or Berkeley?

I'm currently a high school freshman and I'm extremely interested in going to either UCLA, Berkeley, or Cornell. I want to know if I will have a good chance of getting accepted.

I currently have a 3.71 gpa and my rank is 57 out of 752. I have all the hardest honors classes I can take this year but I got a B in two of them. I also plan to take all the AP/honors math and science classes in the next three years. I was also in marching band, concert band and on the basketball team this year. I have started a basketball club at my school as well.

But even with all that stuff I know that the schools I want to get into are highly selective. Would I still have a somewhat good chance?

It's too ealry to say anything.
Join some good EC's. Maybe you can find yourself a hook in one of them.
Keep studying and prep hard for the SAT and you will have a shot at all of them.

killerce:

Assuming you are a California resident,
UCB/UCLA: Slight Reach

I see. Well I know that the rank isn't totally official yet because they haven't taken the honors classes into account since that was only the first semester, but if I am able to pull up my grades a little more for the rest of my high school career and earn a 4.0 do you think that'd raise my chances?

For UC's, freshman year counts for basically nothing. Stop stressing :).
